Wedding Flower Girls – The Bride’s Pretty Little Accomplices
Weddings seem incomplete without the cute flower girls who usually lead the party down the aisle. These little girls commonly don curly or pigtail hairstyles and may be seen in pretty dresses, which could be intently purchased from boutiques or simply handmade.

Wedding Flower Girls - The Bride’s Little Angels
Nuptials are made even lovelier when wedding flower girls are seen part of the program. By tradition, these girls are of some relation either to the bride or groom, and are probably chosen because they are nieces or cousins. The most common ages of the little girls range between the ages of 4 and 8. Usually, it’s the bride who gets to decide on their attires, which typically come as something different from the bridesmaids’ but still somewhat in the same wedding color scheme. These cute wedding flower girls are then seen dropping colorful flower petals as they show the way and walk down the aisle.
Flower Girl Hairstyles - Most Common Styles
Some of the traditional yet romantic flower girl hairstyles for the wedding are the cascading curls and ponytails. Cascading curls generally work very well for any kind of wedding and can be easily achieved by drying the little girl’s hair, wrapping some small sections through a curling iron, and then tousling it with one’s fingers. The style can then be kept in place by applying a hairspray. The other widely held flower girl hairstyles are the ponytails and pigtails, which are basically representative of the little girl’s youth. The latter that is wrapped low on the girl’s neck can seem very formal while the former can look cheery for the very young ones.
Flower Girls Dress - Inexpensive Options
One of the means to obtain cute yet low-cost flower girls dress is by visiting thrift stores, which generally provide a plethora of wedding dress deals. Although the clothing has been slightly used, it still can look new and feel comfortable. Another economical way to obtain lovely attire for the flower girl is by purchasing after the holiday has transpired since a lot of good bargains are present especially when Christmas or Easter seasons are over. Aside from that, handmade gowns can also be an excellent option. A friend or relative can be asked to sew the flower girls dress so that the cost can be brought down.

We have been pinning away on the WeddingsOnline.ie Pinterest account for a couple of weeks now, and only yesterday we realised how many stunning bridal hair photos we had in our wedding hair styles folder! So, for those of you who haven’t succumbed to the inspiration boards already, we thought we’d share some of our findings here!
The Classic Updo
The updo will always be a wedding classic, and is perfect for displaying a beautiful headpiece, tiara/headband or even a wedding veil, depending on the style/height of the hair. Make sure to bring your hair accessories along with you for your hair trial, so that your wedding hair stylist knows what he/she will be working with on the morning. Also remember that sometimes what we see in the mirror can be somewhat distorted, so take some photos from a couple of angles and pop some make-up on so that you can get a good idea of how the style will look on you and in photos.

These two ‘messy updos’ are great examples of semi formal hair dos. They will look beautiful on boho brides who don’t like feeling too constrained or restricted but still want something ‘bridal’ and different for their big day.

The Top Knot, the Side Bun and Hair Accessories
The top knot (above right) has been a big beauty trend all year, both on the catwalks and on the aisle (in fact we loved the look so much we dedicated a whole blog post to it! Brides on Trend – The Top Knot) This look is perfect for hanging a long veil below, or for sporting a particularly beautiful bridal headband such as a hair vine from Rangoli. The side bun (below right) is a more casual, romantic take on the bun and provides a nice frame for brides who perhaps aren’t used to wearing their hair off their face and fear feeling a bit exposed with a tradional updo. This look will go perfectly with one of Stacey Hannan’s hair combs, or these striking twisting star flowers from Cel Design Jewellery.
